Zoe Saldana On Star Trek And Avatar 2
Cannes Videblogisodes 8 & 9 Now Online

We laughed, we cried, we clamped our hands over our ears and said "Na na na na" whenever Lars von Trier started speaking. Yes, Empire was on hand to record every triumph and misstep, every controversy and bogus Terrence Malick sighting at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

We go out with a bit of a doozy - a chat with Zoe Saldana about her double helping of monster sequels: Star Trek 2 and Avatar 2. Of course, there's no Trek 2 script yet but we invited to share her dream for Uharu's character arc. "I can tell you for what I'd like to see happen [which is] for Spock and see Uhura to really hook up," she laughed, "and for Uhura to kick some Romulan butt".

Hmm, might that mention of Romulans be significant?

Day eight provides an equally huge treat. The legendary Roger Corman, mentor to pretty much any director worth their salt from Scorsese to Demme to Cameron, was in town to talk about his new documentary, Corman's World. Click below for words straight from the mouth of a legend and some puppet nuggets from Jodie Foster on The Beaver.
