New X-Men: First Class Trailer Arrives
The mutant prequel gets another teaser

20 April 2011  |  Written by Ali Plumb

After yesterday’s badly Photoshopped poster incident, it’s a great pleasure to bring to you another international trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s take on the much-loved comic book franchise, X-Men: First Class.

Early on, much of it is stuff we’ve seen before – establishing that yes, yes indeed, James McAvoy’s Professor X was bezzie mates with Michael Fassbender’s Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto – but then halfway through things kick up a gear.

Banshee flies in to say hello, Azazel gets more screentime to kill people with his tail, and Erik dons his new (old) helmet and generally makes metal fly about the place.

In other words, this is further proof that it’s well worth getting excited about this new prequel and you probably ought to start drawing James McAvoy's face over the June 1 page in your diaries. You know, because X-Men: First Class is out then. As you might have guessed. Ahem.

The X-Men universe is slightly different in that there are so many characters and so many stories to tell. I just hope they focus on story and character and not the action spectacle because there's so much potential with Magneto's origin and backstory, a ma More

RE: Ting inducing soundtrack
I just can't get excited about this. All the stuff from the trailers makes it look like X-Men 3 - especially the action scenes - there's nothing new or exciting on show there. The characters and the story have so much potential in these beginning stages so I've still got a little bit of hope. Especially with Fassbender. More
