Exclusive: Rubber Poster
Cannes-acclaimed wheelsploitation

21 March 2011  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen

If Paul Schrader and David Cronenberg co-managed your local branch of Kwik-Fit the results might look a little something like Rubber, the world's first tyre slasher where the tyre does the slashing. The poster - the most barmily B-movie homaging bloodbath we've seen for some time - tells you everything you need to know about director Quentin Dupieux's demented creation.

Rubber is the tale of Robert, just your average vulcanised rubber tyre come to life and hellbent on destruction. And when we say 'average', this tyre thinks it's Mad Max. Robert rolls across the bleached Californian landscape unleashing its telepathic powers on the unwary, beginning with desert rodents and working its bloody way up the foodchain. Before long this tyre is making peoples' heads explode.

Click below for the trailer, further proof that this will be the year's most original film.

Rubber has a limited release before rolling onto DVD and Blu-ray on April 11.
