So far still untitled, the shoot for Sherlock Holmes 2 seems to be ticking along nicely, taking in locations around the south of England in its recreation of Victorian Blighty. To one of them, Didcot train station in Oxfordshire, went the LA Times, who also managed to lay their hands on this new still from the movie.
So what's afoot for Holmes and Watson? Only a mind as sharp as Baker Street's finest could deduce much from this snap, other than the pair clearly fancy a cuppa and some significant tidings are probably contained within that envelope. But according to Robert Downey Jr., it's nothing good. "Unlike last time, where Holmes kept getting Watson into trouble,” he tells the LA Times, “this time Watson is getting Holmes out of trouble, and they’re both in deeper trouble than I think the audience could have imagined we could go...".
The trouble revolves around Conan Doyle's fiendish criminal masterbrain Moriarty, played by Mad Men's Jared Harris. Stephen Fry, Holmes' even more brilliant brother Mycroft, and Noomi Rapace's mysterious gypsy Sim round out the cast. Sherlock Holmes 2 is out on December 16, but watch this space for more in the near future.
