With shooting on the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean adventure, On Stranger Tides now wrapped, and director Rob Marshall busy getting the thing ready to release next summer, some fresh pictures have been shoved online from the new movie by Disney. These images reveal pretty much what you’d expect from a Pirates outing – Johnny Depp’s Captain Sparrow getting into scrapes, riding on things he shouldn’t (in this case, the roof of a carriage), and meeting nasty-looking fellow buccaneers (such as Ian McShane’s Blackbeard). But the real thrust of this next film is Jack running into an old flame (Penelope Cruz) who gets his loins tingling but also his treasure-seeking heart beating when she shanghais him into a quest for the fabled Fountain of Youth. The trailer is due to dock at our I/O ports on Monday. Oh, and a doff of the tricorn hat to the scurvy dogs at Collider for the pictures. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides arrives in cinemas on May 18 next year. |
