Exclusive: The Rite Trailer
Anthony Hopkins 1, Satan 0

It's good to see Anthony Hopkins back on our screens again after the big old hairy flop that was The Wolfman. It's a return to horror for the Port Talbot legend, with The Rite seeing him taking the cloth as a Vatican priest, Father Lucas, caught in the middle of a supernatural maelstrom.

Here's a first look at the trailer, which shows Lucas taking Colin O'Donoghue's disillusioned young priest under his wing when the Vatican calls the clergy to arms after a spate of demonic possessions. Cue all manner of additional demonic mayhem.

In truth, our trail may be a little misleading because, once again, things look like getting distinctly hairy for Sir Anthony.

As anyone who saw The Last Exorcism will testify, things rarely turn out well for the putty tats either. Mind you, the felines look look they may have swapped sides for this one.

Ciarán Hinds, Alice Braga and Toby Jones co-star, with Swedish director Mikael Håfström behind the camera. The Rite is out on February 25.

RE: You Have The Rite To Be Exorcised
L: BenTramer Rome is "infested" with cats? The Rome Tourist Board won't like that one! Not a very inspiring clip, the young lead actor doesn't seem much and there's nothing there that would make you rush out to see it (although I do like the way they used the music from Bram Stoker's Dracula with Hopkins). The reality is that The Exorcist pretty much nailed this genre back in 1973 with the definitive movie on the subject and every movie after it just struggles in its mighty shadow. ut l More
