New Burke And Hare Trailer Online!
It's an invasion of the bodysnatchers!

05 October 2010  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

Here's a Tuesday treat: a full-length trailer for Burke And Hare, the story of Edinburgh's famous bodysnatchers starring Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis. It's all directed by John Landis, and judging by this effort is at least as heavy on the scatalogical humour as it is on the horror.

Burke (Pegg) and Hare (Serkis) were immigrants to Scotland from northern Ireland who, in the 1820s, got into the business of selling corpses to Edinburgh medical schools. The only problem with such enterprising activity was that they were involved in grave robbing and then murder to obtain the cadavers, rather than dedicated to the cause of advancing medical science.

The film also stars Jessica Hynes, Isla Fisher, Tim Curry, Christopher Lee, Stephen Merchant, Jenny Agutter, Bill Bailey and Ronnie Corbett, who's our Most Valued Supporting Player in this trailer. Judging by this effort is going all-out to capture Edinburgh's reputation as Auld Reekie.

Burke and Hare is out on October 29 here in the UK.

RE: other than Isla Fisher's accent...
Any news on a certificate? Could be comedy burnt to a crisp, or just a fun little stumble. Either way, I'm in. More

RE: Disappointing trailer.
Yeah, the accents are an issue, a rather big issue, but if I can grapple with that this should be good. More

RE: What's Going On?
No, sad is paranoia and ridiculous conspiracy theories. p; If you moved  into others parts of the site, particularly Empire Online, you might have become aware that we are suffering a spamming problem at the moment. With up to 60 posts at a time we have to use the 'delete all' function. That can mean some posts get deleted with it, particularly if you've posted from the main site and/or you're used the reply button in the spammers post.   The best way to avoid that is to post in More

RE: What's Going On?
I experienced the same thing the other day when I made a comment that criticised the magazine/website. Quite sad really. More
