Fanboys was finished waaaaay back in 2008, but it's taken its time in reaching these fair shores. Now, however, the caper comedy about four friends who decide to break into Skywalker Ranch to see The Phantom Menace early is finally approaching a release here - even if that is on DVD and Blu ray rather than in cinemas.

It all stars Dan Fogler, Jay Baruchel, Sam Huntingdon, Chris Marquette and Kristen Bell, but has a smattering of celebrity cameos in there too - which you'll see in the trailer below. The film was directed by Kyle Newman, who's now working on something called Emo Boy, which sounds amusing.

Fanboys is out here on October 4.

At last the Fanboys are with us
Saw a naughty copy of this 18 months ago and have haunted shops moaning it wasnt released in the UK. Major bummer its not got a cinema release but blu ray will just have to do. Its witty and takes me back to when I too would have done anything to have seen Ep 1... unlike now when I would do anything to have 4 of the 5 screenings taken back. More
