Milla Promises Resident Evil 5
Jovovich is fired up for a sequel

13 September 2010  |  Written by Owen Williams  |  Source: Vulture

As a small addendum to the news of Resident Evil: Afterlife's weekend box office win, here's Milla Jovovich herself, enthusing already about Resident Evil 5.

"The new Resident Evil is the first one to ever open at number one worldwide", she told NY Magazine's Vulture. "It's the biggest movie in the franchise, so we're definitely going to make another one."

Next time round, the results will have more to do with fan interaction, Milla claims. She and her husband Paul WS Anderson (he's director of this one and the first, and writer / producer of the rest) have been "on Twitter and stuff... so it'll probably be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see."

Milla's Twitter is here, where she thanks "you all much 4 all your grt comments on the film! I'm so happy u all love it!" She says to have fun watching Afterlife, and "let's do RE5 soon!"

So if, next time, you want to see Leon Kennedy in ye old Europe, or Sheva Alomar in Africa, you know where to go.

Resident Evil: Afterlife is out now, and Empire's review is here.

RE: Cool movie!!
Yeah lets make the films just like the games. I can't wait for Milla to have to run back through empty rooms, she has already been through, to get a piece of the unicorn head that fits into a hole in the wall. Gripping stuff that. Having said that, the films are rather poo! And I really dont see the similarity between day of the dead or dawn of the dead with regards to the Resident Evil games other than the fact Zombies are involved. The most cinematic of the games that coul More

Too Coin a phrase the Money Shot was Hilarious
Its been one of my Favorite Games so trying to keep the story,Characters and Plot Identical to the Game Format can be a double Edged Sword.(Or an Over-sized Axe with a Gaint Tenderizer on the opposite side). The fight Sequences are so Similiarly Co -Ordinated that it looks like those Adverts that say "Not Actual Game Footage " Lots of Action , Weaponary ,Wire Stunts,Explosions ,Near Escapes ,Not so Near Escapes and that Ever Effective Shock Tactic. But with More

RE: Cool movie!!
OK I give up on this thread - obviously the lowest common denominator is the majority here. Are you people really this stupid or is somebody actually spiking the water supply? Here's a suggestion, first of all go and watch the original Day of the Dead and Dawn of The Dead movies. Then Go and Play the first 3 Res Evil games which drew heavily from those films. If after that you aren't capable of seeing a huge discrepancy in the way these movies are made then I truly fear for the future of qual More

Cool movie!!
I went to see Afterlife today with the missus, it's a cool movie. A lot of people moan it's nothing like the games, which makes me wonder if such people have even seen any of these movies. There's plenty of stuff from the games added into the mix and the character of Alice is the icing on the cake! So I for one will be going to see part 5.... More

RE: END THIS!!!
L: drich90215 This series has nothing to do with the source material and is in fact an insulting poke in the eye to the games. I can hardly believe that this franchise has continued for as long as it has- I can only imagine a bunch of brain numb Fukwits are paying to see these films. The closest thing to the games that I've seen on screen is Land of The Dead and the DOTD remake. P WS Anderson must be putting the Hex on the studio bigwigs to keep getting his 'Films' financed.. End of m More
