Mark Millar On Kick-Ass 2
Red Mist goes very, very dark

We did an interview recently with Mark Millar, the writer of Kick-Ass, and asked for a few tidbits on his planned sequel. Now there's no word yet on whether that will ever make it to the screen, but here's what Millar has planned.

"It’s gangs going all over New York filming atrocities on their cell phones and putting them on the internet, trying to outdo each other, all at the behest of Red Mist. My idea for Red Mist was to introduce a supervillain that made Heath Ledger’s Joker look like Cesar Romero’s Joker. He’s basically Charles Manson as a supervillain."

"Chris said to me he hates the fact that people always call him McLovin’. So my aim was to give him a new name for people to call him. And the villain calls himself The Motherfucker. Chris is The Motherfucker, the worst of all supervillains. But at the same time we continue the story of Dave and all the complications in his life as he gets deeper and deeper into this dangerous hobby he’s got where he dresses up as a superhero and gets beaten up every night. So he forms a gang and what you’ve got then is all the heroes versus all the villians in a big gangfight."

RE: Mark Millar On Kick-Ass 2
I liked Kick Ass. Whilst it was great fun, it had a fair few flaws and at best was a 4star film. It's not in the same league as Scott Pilgrim which I do think deserved its five stars. However, that's all opinion I guess. My point is - Kick Ass was great. The major flaw though was that Red Mist was absolutely terrible. Dreadful. The guy can't act. To base a sequel around him as the villian is a bad idea. Thankfully he wasn't on screen much in Kick Ass, but every time he was I felt myself lo More

RE: Mark Millar On Kick-Ass 2
Mark Millar writes great comics no doubt and Kick Ass was all kinds of awesome, but he is most definitely a self promoting sell-out, and i still haven't forgiven him for letting Wanted get completely bum-raped and made into a movie. Although it wasn't totally terrible it was absolutely he comic book, and not only did Millar let it happen he fucking promoted it!! Like i say, sell-out!!p; But Kick Ass is something that i think can be built on, and i for one like the sound of McLo More
