My Name Is Bruce Again
Small update on Bruce Vs. Frankenstein

25 August 2010  |  Written by Owen Williams  |  Source: MTV

MTV has picked up a couple of hints from Bruce Campbell about Bruce Vs. Frankenstein, the planned sequel to his 2007 My Name is Bruce.

Shooting was due to start in the autumn, but commitments to his role in TV's Burn Notice - specifically to a TV movie spin-off that he's shooting during the hiatus - has meant having to "push" BvF to the next Burn Notice break.

It's still definitely on though, with Bruce clearly keeping his eye on the zeigeist. "I want every horror icon in the movie," he says. Are we talking about the horror Expendables? Not so much that, says Bruce, as "the horror It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World". Maybe not quite so zeitgeisty after all then, although the idea of Bruce, Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Gunnar Hansen, Bill Moseley, Michael Berryman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tony Todd, Angus Scrimm, Danielle Harris and Warwick Davies chasing after treasure buried under a big W, isn't unappealing. Still probably not as good as Bubba Nosferatu would be though.

The Blu-Ray of The Evil Dead, which is the reason for the MTV interview, is out on October 11.

RE: no love for 'bruce'?
My Name is Bruce was ok, no masterpiece obviously but it had its moments. And Bruce is always watchable. I look forward to more Brucey adventures! I hope he works a bit more on the ending next time though... More

no love for 'bruce'?
I actually enjoyed 'My name is Bruce'. He has been one of my favourite actors for years and I got a kick out of watching him pull a '3 amigos' riff. More

RE: My Name Is Bruce Again
I'm a gigantic fan of the Bruce but i must admit My Name Is Bruce was bad and not in the so bad it's actually good way. The film looked awful! Being a huge mark for Bruce i'll still go watch this with pleasure though! More

RE: My Name Is Bruce Again
I have to admit to being thoroughly disappointed with My Name Is Bruce, Maybe he forgot his old spice that day but it was severely lacking in humour and the script was pretty poor. I like The Chin and find him a very underrated actor but hopefully this next film will be an improvement. More
