Unstoppable Trailer Powers In
Capt Kirk and Denzel Vs runaway train!

Remember when we talked recently about Tony Scott preferring movies where things blowed up real good? Well, his latest attempt at thrilling us, runaway train pic Unstoppable, has just shoved its first trailer on to the Magical Interwebs’ content delivery tracks.

Loosely based on a true story, Unstoppable follows what happens when a freight train chugging along with gallons of toxic materials is suddenly minus a driver, and speeding out of control towards a town, where, if it should derail (or otherwise be destroyed), it’ll contaminate everything for miles around.

Fortunately, grizzled rail veteran Denzel Washington and new pup operator Chris Pine are on the case, and hatch a plan to hook an engine to the back of the loco locomotive to try to bring it to a halt. Their bosses think they’re crazy. But it might… just… work.

The trailer certainly promises a lot of high-octane hi-jinks, and it appears that Pine and the Denz have some decent chemistry as the heroic leads. Plus the lovely Rosario Dawson gets to spew the destined-for-classic-quoteage line, “We’re not just talking about a train… We’re talking about a MISSILE the size of the Chrysler Building!” And… we’re hooked.

Unstoppable crashes into cinemas on Friday November 12.

Two train drivers on the edge! willing to risk their lives to run this bitch down! Absolute load of shite, I fecking hate Tony Scott. Whats next? 2 toilet cleaners on the edge risking it all to bring down a portaloo filled with toxic waste, moving at high speed, and they're both estranged from their wives.. More

Dead Man's Handle
I might be wrong, but aren't all trains fitted with a "dead man's handle"? The driver of a train has their foot on a pedal. If they were to keel over from a heart attack, for example, the foot comes off the pedal, the emergency brakes kick in and the train comes to a stop. So a runaway, driver-free train is impossible? Just wondering... More

I'd watch Denzel in anything, even suffered through Book of Eli, but this looks awful! TV movie of the week with a big budget! More

RE: Unstoppable Trailer Powers In
It reminds me a little bit of i] but they have added the loving, concerned wife element to make it more original... hould be fun though. It would be cool to have an action movie where you can actually see what's going on, and who is involved during the action sequences. I'm not saying there's a recent film where this wasn't the case, just saying. More

Son of Runaway Train
Runaway Train has to be a candidate for most under-rated movie ever. That movie looked FREEZING. I'll watch this one to see if it gets anywhere close. Denzel and Scott usually = great. More

Don't Stop Me Now
Denzel, Tony Scott and trains again. After Pelham 123, this is becoming a habit with them. Could be good, but it looks like a movie we've seen before (Runaway Train with Jon Voight comes to mind). I'll probably wait for the DVD on this one. More

Didn't major studios give up on runaway train movies in like the 1920's or something? I know Fox is reaching for ideas but this is just getting sad, especially with that much talent involved. Hmm i have Denzel Washington, Chris Pine, Rosario Dawson and that guy who's Shia Labeoufs dad in Transformers whose name you can never remember - i could make something interesting, something poignant, but instead i'll make a movie which will be half an hour of Chris Pine and Denzel being all tense and not More

Firing a gun...
Well, duh, how else do you stop a speeding freight train? You shoot out the tyres. What? You think you can stop one by disconnecting the carriages one by one? Some people... More

I don't what it is...
...but I Iike stories like this. I like Death Train (starring a pre-Bond Pierce Brosnan and Sir Christopher Lee) and there was an episode of the New Dominion Tank Police, about an unstoppble behemoth truck which I love. Pine and Denzel do seem to connect with each other, so this could be a quitely good Tony Scott movie like Spy Game and Enemy of the State. More

It Thomas the Tank Engine, on Steriods
I generally like Tony Scott's films, like Enemy of the State and Crimson Tide, and Denzel is one of the coolest actors in the world, but this looks like one of the most stupidest movies ever made. Unspottable looks like a film with barely any stop and even less real world logic and I can picture all the cliches already. It may as well be Thomas the Tank Engine espiode because that plot has been used before. More
