The summer's coolest comic-book movie just keeps looking better. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is fast approaching its August 25 release date, and just to keep us all slavering in anticipation, Edgar Wright and the gang have enlisted superduperhip DJ and general mixmaster Osymyso to mix a series of new trailer remixes for the movie.
The first, Prepare, features Osymyso's workover of the down and dirty Bass Battle, a track that appears on Nigel Godrich's score and features the guitar wizardry of Justin Meldal-Johnsen and Jason Falkner.
Osymyso, as Wright fans may remember, created Spaced Jam for the DVD release of Spaced (sampling dialogue from the series just as he does here for the film), as well as producing the soundtrack for Shaun Of The Dead and contributing to Hot Fuzz. So this is but the latest in a long collaboration - and this is but the first in a series of trailer mixes he's done for the movie.
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World will be closing Empire's Movie Con this year, remember, and you'll need to keep your eyes peeled on the Scott Pilgrim Vs. Comic Con Twitter feed, which will be posting links to all the videos as they go up.
I saw the trailer for this on Saturday, just before Inception. It looks like utter twaddle. If Empire and the smug Wright/Pegg express weren't leeching off each other this would be getting a fraction of the hysterical coverage. A four star review (at least) is practically guaranteed. More

not that'll I'll see it this year or anything - what with 2 younglings taking up my time.

So the point of this film is?
I haven't seen the books but this seems to be about romantic story of a typical skank working her way through "bad boy" after "bad boy" and then finally realising that after all that she wants to end up with the typical "nice guy" she's been rejecting all this time. Nice. So, he has to fight them all? Sounds great. And what's the girl doing for him? - if this a 15 or below I doubt it's going to be much :) More
I've really got to stop devouring every single bit of preview that comes out, it may just spoil it for me. From the extra footage here, though, it looks perfectly pitched to the spirit of the books. I am extra hyped times 10. More
