Nightmare On Elm Street: Meet Freddy
Exclusive full reveal of a new Krueger

28 April 2010  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

submit to reddit

The new Nightmare on Elm Street comes out this Friday in the US and next Friday (May 7) in the UK, but here, at long last, is a full-face look at Jackie Earle Haley's Freddy Krueger - so meet the character who hopes to haunt your dreams for years to come.

Yes, if you thought that Haley's Rorschach mask in Watchmen was disturbing, you ain't seen nothin' yet. And this is recognisably Haley, while also being recognisably similar to Robert Englund's original Freddy. The flayed, burnt look; the red soreness; the overwhelming urge to apply a thick layer of aloe vera: it's all there.

This version's directed by Samuel Bayer, and Haley's joined by Clancy Brown, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker. See it next week - if you dare!

RE: eeeee!
I think he looks great (For the part, I'm not sick!) I don't think the two should be compared, but it looks like he's going make a really good Freddy. Having seen him in Watchmen and Shutter Island its a good choice. More
