New Nightmare On Elm Street Poster
Exclusive: New art for the horror remake

09 April 2010  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen

Just when you thought it was safe to grab forty winks, Freddie Krueger is back to haunt your dreams with his salami-faced fury in the Platinum Dunes' remake/reboot/whatnot of A Nightmare On Elm Street.

As evidenced by this shiny yet brutal new one-sheet, it's splashing down in cinemas soon with Jackie Earle Haley reprising Robert Englund's iconic role as the taloned terror. And judging by the trailer, there's all manner of night time nastiness in store for Clancy Brown, Rooney Mara, Kellan Lutz and their fellow Springwood-ers, as Krueger returns (again) to wreck revenge for his death.

Can Samuel Bayer's feature-length debut match the franchise-spawning success of West Craven's original? We'll find out when A Nightmare On Elm Street reaches cinemas on May 7.

Glad to see they have updated the makeup. The first images of him looking like he was wearing a phantom of the opera mask were terible. Only thing that will let this down for me is Kellan Lutz is in it..ugh More

SCREW THIS RE-MAKE! SCREW PD & MICHAEL BAY!
Freddy finally is dead - who wants to go see a blatant copy of a classic movie we've all seen? Sick and tired of re-makes, if it aint broke, don't fix it. Platinum Dunes & Michael Bay suck ass with their lame attempts at horror, used to make a quick buck with no resect for the genre. More

Love the poster by the way. Very effective. Never cared for the Freddy films I have to say, so I don't really care about this. More
