Bill Condon In Talks For Breaking Dawn
Summit appear to have their director…

08 April 2010  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Variety

We reported last month that Twilight wranglers Summit Entertainment had been looking at some experienced directors to bring the final novel, Breaking Dawn, to the screen across a likely two movies. Gus Van Sant, Sofia Coppola and Bill Condon were all rumoured and now Variety brings word that Condon is in final talks to sign up.

Apparently the deal is going smoothly, which tells us Condon has yet to read the actual book, detailing Bella and Edward’s marital consummation of their simmering love thang, and the bloody, violent birth of hyper-intelligent crossbreed daughter Renesmee.

It has been variously described as bonkers and brutal, so it won’t be an easy job. Melissa Rosenberg, the one constant behind the camera for the franchise, is working on the scripts now.

Condon had set up Salmon Fishing In The Yemen to shoot this year, but if he takes the Dawn gig, Summit’s notorious tight schedule will mean he’ll have to put it aside for a while…

Stop your belly aching!
LOL. It was a pretty huge spoiler Empire. The book is, compared to the others, mental and completely bonkers. How they can make that one into a film without an 18 rating is beyond me anyway. Which it won't be because if it's an 18 (which to be true to the books it should be) it will loose a large chunk of it's audience. Therefore what will Condon keep and what will he avoid because two major parts of the book are very, very adult. hmmm. More

Renesmee?!
Seriously? Random name... All the people complaining about spoilers, this is the kind of thing you would stumble upon anyway. I don't care about Twilight in the least, but I knew the minor spoiler from this article. It's like complaining about hearing that Dumbledore dies before watching Half Blood Prince. The safest bet would be to stick to headlines if your trying not to be spoiled on this series, as Empire didn't say anything everyone would in the same kind of article. More

SPOILER!!!
God damn it. Why do you keep spoiling things for me?! Any chance of some consideration? Like, maybe, a spoiler warning? More

Doh!
Bill Condon?! The guy who made Dreamgirls? He hasn't even read the book? He can p*** off is what I think. More

!!!!SPOILER!!!! Well. Tha was quite easy to write. Why could empire not have been considerate and done the same thing?!?! Thanks very much for the MASSIVE spoiler about the film in that article. I came in to read an article about the director of the last film, i did not expect to read a huge spoiler like that. The VERY LEAST you could do is add a warning in the article. Not happy. Very inconsiderate. Not everyone has read the books. I expect you to amend this before more peopl More
