Another New Toy Story 3 Character
Octopus Stretch wiggles into our lives

09 March 2010  |  Written by Alastair Plumb

What? Can it be seven days since the last Toy Story 3 character landed on our metaphorical electronic doorstep? Yes, yes it can.

The seventh in an increasingly long list of new toys to entertain and intrigue you, Stretch is your new favourite glittery purple rubbery Octopus thing (voiced by our lady Whoopi Goldberg) and no doubt you’ll love him as much as you do Rex, Woody and Mr Potato Head once he hits our screens. Maybe. Possibly maybe.

We are reliably informed that there are dozens of sturdy suckers on each of his legs, and with good care and regular cleaning, you can stick ‘im to a window and watch him wiggle his fine self down. If only you could do that with real octopodes*, then you could have fun with living cephalopods in your own house and probably end up getting reported to the RSPCA too.

Sparkly and smiley, sticky and marine-based, we’re definitely on board with this little fella, and we can't wait to see him and his chums once Toy Story 3's out on July 23 here in the UK.

And if you've missed the debut of the other new Toy Story 3 characters in the past few weeks, catch up here...

* Yes, we've watched that QI episode too - the word 'octopi' is dead, people... love live the 'octopodes!'

ummmmm
If it's voiced by Whoopi Goldberg surely he's a she? More
