50 Cent Knows Things Fall Apart
Mario Van Peebles to direct

22 February 2010  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Variety

50 Cent Knows Things Fall Apart

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is continuing to keep his film career bubbling away even as he prepares to go on tour for his latest album – he’ starring in American Football drama Things Fall Apart.

Mario Van Peebles is directing and co-starring in the film, which Jackson co-wrote with Brian Miller and which follows a star college ball player who suffers through personal tragedy in his senior year.

Jackson is producing the film through his Cheetah Vision production company (does every actor have a company these days), and tells Variety, “you have 90 minutes and 120 pages, compared with three minutes for a song. I've become very passionate about making films." He’s planning to lose about 65 pounds to play the role, which he’ll start shooting in May.
