Razzie Nominations Announced
Bad year for Bumblebee

As if timed to coincide with Empire's definitive list of the Top 50 Worst Movies Ever, this year's Golden Raspberry Award nominations, the anti-Oscars for all films awful, have just been announced.

2009 is described by the Razzie Foundation as "a banner year for bad movies", and as such, the categories are hotly contested. Leading the nominations however, are Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Land of the Lost, with seven nominations each. G.I. Joe is just behind with six. Awwww, Land of the Lost isn't that bad...

Soft targets? Well, of course: that's what the Razzies does - and they've also gone for lots of rather lazy so-and-so "and any co-star" in the Worst Screen Couple category, just to really reinforce the impression that they're going through the motions. Given the year, there are also three special categories for the worst actor, actress and movie of the last decade.

The results will be announced on March 6th, the night before the Oscars, and the full list of nominations is below. Wonder if any of the winners will turn out to be Halle Berry style jolly-good-sports, and show up to accept their trophy?

RE: Razzie Nominations Announced
I saw All About Steve recently and the dialogue is just awful for the most part, but worst actress for Sandra Bullock, yes she's obnoxious in the movie but the last part of the movie is not too bad. An annoying character doesn't make for bad acting, Transformers 2 I thought was great, I think they're just picking on Megan Fox this year because of her uncensored comments gone awry in interviews. It's sad I can remember when Eddie Murphy was hilarious in movies, where the hell did Axel Foley go? More

WTF???????
Wait just a flamin' minute here. I thought Ali Larter made a pretty good psycho in Obsessed (as did quite a few reviewers) and also thought that Sienna Miller made a good Baroness in G.I Joe (which, by the way, shouldn't be nominated either, it's just a really fun, brainless action movie. Stupid and cheesy but that's what i liked about it and the same goes for Transformers.) And as other people have commented, Megan Fox wasn't bad in Jennifer's Body. May i also add that Miley Cyrus (although More

RE: G.I Joke
These awards hit their peak in the Showgirls year. Since then it has been all about petty point scoring.   Also - Wolverine is worse than at least two of those films. More

L: hughjass Ugh! The Razzie noms get worse and more predictable year on year. Surely the point of a worst film award is to award the truly awful films - of which the ****Movie/Flick films should surely be the main contenders in each and every category every year - and not to give the stars and studios a kicking just for a bad career choice or a bloated vanity project? or instance is The Spirit? To my mind it was one the worst comic book movie adaptations ever. /quote]   More

RE: G.I Joke
L: dgribble Ok fair enough G.I. Joe won't be winning any Oscars, but no way was it one of the worst movies of the year,(one of the most entertaning compaired to the crap the critics are prasing) I mean I can't see 2012 anywhere on the list, so it appears the Razzies (like the Oscars) have now completely lost it. ee, I thought 2012 was in the 'so bad it's great' pantheon of filmmaking. I came out of the cinema wearing a huge grin from how cliched and creaky it all was. I loved the te More

Rob
Pretty amusing list, disagree strongly with all Land of the Lost noms and Megan for Jennifers Body but what can you do? One thing makes up for it loads, the nominations for New Moon... about time Pattison's wooden turn got recognised! More

Agree, these nominations are incredibly lazy. Does anyone think GI Joe set out to be a great piece of cinema? and Megan Fox really wasn't bad in Jennifer's Body More

THESE AWARDS GET ON MY WICK!!
I used to enjoy this list but it is ridiculous and seemingly sexist. The entire male list is made up of actors who have (at times) demonstrated proper acting chops. The female lists: Candice Bergen, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, W!T!F! Why is Josh Douche-bag-chanel up there or Channing (Bag of Tat)um! Most of those films didn't appear on critics worst films of the year. Stupid awards! They should give themselves a Razzie. More

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
I think it should win, because it is absolutely god-awful! How could you screw up on making a sequel about a bunch of transforming robots?! The idea is simple!!! Two rivaling robots from an alien planet, and fight in an all epic war. As I said before, it's epic! out there! and I should go along with that with 2hrs and 30mins of nothing with a bunch of racially stereotypical robots with a bunch of human characters that either don't care or absolutely pointless to be in the movie. Michael Bay is l More

Mostly Agreee
I basically agree with 100% of this.... I never saw most of those movies, but it was because I knew they'd be terrible. The only thing I don't agree with is Ben Affleck in Pearl Harbor and Surviving Christmas... I thought he was funny in that movie actually. :/ More
