The Runaways Teaser Now Online
See Kristen Stewart Jett away

18 December 2009  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: MTV.com

It's a chilly one this morning, and what better way to warm the cockles of your heart than to rawk out with The Runaways teaser, now online over at MTV.com. Yes, now we get the chance to see Kristen Stewart's horrifying Joan Jett haircut in action, and it's every bit as mullety as you'd expect.

The film, for those of you not au fait with your rock history, is the story of girl rockers The Runaways, led by co-founder and rhythm guitarist Joan Jett (Stewart), drummer Sandy West (Stella Maeve) and singer Cherrie Currie (Dakota Fanning). Producer Kim Fowley (Michael Shannon) introduced the band to one another and in the male-dominated world of 1970s rock their group enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame but found themselves unprepared to deal with it, with Currie in particular unable to deal with the Beatle-mania like response of fans on a 1977 trip to Japan.

The film will premiere at Sundance in January and is due out on March 19, 2010 in the US, with no UK date set. So what do you think of this trailer? Is Jett trashing a recording studio sufficiently rock 'n' roll for you? Are you having trouble believing that that's really Dakota Fanning? And is this a film that will "tear this world apart"?

thoroughly uninspiring.
I'm watching this project with interest in the hope that, against all intuition, it will be good. This does nothing to allay my fears. More
