World Exclusive: Exam Trailer Now Online
Get a glimpse at dark psycho-thriller

26 November 2009  |  Written by Chris Hewitt

We’ve been banging on about Stuart Hazeldine’s Exam, since it went down a storm at the Edinburgh Film Festival back in August. And now, with the world exclusive debut of the trailer for the high-concept, low-budget thriller, you’ve got a chance to see why.

The high concept first: coming on like Cube meets The Apprentice, Exam brings together eight disparate people – candidates for an unspecified high-powered job – who find themselves undertaking an exam with a difference. A big difference. A mind-bending, noggin-noodling and potentially fatal difference.

Played out in real time, it’s a crisp, electrifying and often ingenious thriller featuring top-notch turns from Luke Mably, Jimi Mistry, and the godlike Colin Salmon, as a godlike invigilator, and marks out Hazeldine as a real talent to watch.

But don’t take our word for it – check out the trailer below and form your own opinions. You will be tested afterwards, so pay close attention.

Exam is released in the UK on January 8.

What?
They get stuck in a room for 80 hours and they start killing each other!? How about "Oh, I give up. Just let me outta this room." Seems more believable. More

RE: Ni-iceeee!
Discussing films and actors' abilities is fine - getting personal is more problematic and issues of libel arise, particularly when it is a personal attack on someone. Comments above have been edited. More

Ni-iceeee!

EXAM
Wow! Looks like a great thriller and a brilliant cast to bring to bring it to life. Will definitely be catching this one on big screen. Encouraged to see a quality Brit film, Hazeldine up there, considering his long standing reputation over the pond, all looking glossy and cool! More

RE: Exam
I saw this a few months back in Edinburgh. Very nice taut little thriller with a couple of decent twists, well worth seeking out. More

RE: Luke Mably
. A lot of actors are very different behind the scenes from the personas they adopt when in public. More

RE: Luke Mably
I've met Luke Mably and he was a really nice guy. If you met him when he was rehearsing it's likely you met his character rather than the real Luke. He is known for being a bit method..... This Exam movie looks awesome. I'm seeing it for sure!!!! More

as per taskmaster
this looks like The Killing Room which was good - but why remake it? I suppose only about 16 people have actually seen The Killing Room though..... More

Have to admit, it's very rare that I actually want to see a British thriller, but this one looks pretty good More

Interesting...
...definately looks like one worth giving a go, wether it sinks or swims at least it's tried to be original, which is pretty hard to find in most thrillers doing the rounds these days... I was sold at the flash of a paper cut being delievered to someones eye ball!!! More
