I cannot believe the negativity over a TEASER?!! yes I have fond memories over the original (though I preferred Jason), but the teaser pushed all the right buttons for me.
It shows just enough to pique interest and the Rock track is fine... The full trailer may well use the movie's soundtrack or it may not, I care not.. but what it will do is then show us what to truly expect in terms of characters and dialogue.

That trailer was very badly put together. That crappy rawk score over the top of it and the blinding editing combined to create confusion rather than awe. For God's sake, take your time and show us the world you've created and the characters in it. That they've tried to hide it like this doesn't bode well. It makes me think they've got a stinker on their hands and they know it and they don't want us to notice. More

The Music is just bad music regardless of genre.
I can see what they were aiming for. The 300 teaser, but it had buildup and a kind of flowed with the music and the music was well chosen and had a kind of arc to it.
Here it's just kind of a generic noise and beat and the edits are forced to it. More

You'd think by the mass hysteria that the original was some sort of historical epic - the fact it completely eschews the mythology of Perseus, Medusa and Pegasus so as to be almost a completely original story - a fact I remember quite well when it came out when all the Greek historians cried foul over its authenticity.
There is no Calibos, the head of Medusa is not used to kill the the monster (which was a whale called Cetus by the way)

obviously the scorpions are the only completed parts of cgi (aswell as some of medusa) hence the arachnid over-kill. and MAYBE they havent completed the score yet so they threw in some awful rock music to compensate. either that or they're trying to paint comparisons with 300. More

That pushed all the right buttons for me. Personally im really enjoying the rock soundtrack, as with the Wolfman trailer I think they add so much more! Though im hoping they keep some secrets for the final film im not too bothered about spoilers as such, because the end of the story is pretty well known. I am looking forward to this, I love that opening of the trailer with the soldiers in the bottom of the pit thing and the three giant fucking scorpions at the top stood watching.

Plot and dialogue?! Who needs that nonsense when you have men in sandals fighting giant scorpions to a generic heavy rock soundtrack. You can see that they're really trying to catch the mood of that fantastic 300 trailer from a while back ("THIS IS SPARTA!!!"). This is a movie from the man who brought you The Incredible Hulk and Transporter 2, so depth probably isn't much of a priority. Trailer was enjoyable though, so I'm looking forward to seeing more. Trailer was cut far too quick to make sense of what was actually going on action wise, the effects look good though, especially as by Hollywood terms it doesn't have the biggest budget ever.
The use of bloody 'The Used' as backing music is dreadful and yeah that tagline isn't too bright is it? still see it though, I've liked all of the director's films so far in one way or another and unlike most don't have a problem with Worthington. More

Its only a teaser so cant really judge but fairly unexcited about this. The visuals look good, but the rock soundtrack is painfully misplaced and if I wanted to watch more angry sweaty men I would just watch WWE or 300 (which is, I am assuming, the target audience for the film). Hope it does deliver because whilst the original is very dated, it has such charm and personality that it can still hold up today. Meh....we we will see but not a great start! More
