Full Avatar Trailer Online Now that's what we're talking about!
At last, at long last the full trailer to James Cameron's Avatar is among us and far be it from us to say 'we told you so' but... well, we did. Eschewing the more thoughtful, fairytale quality of the teaser and early clips, Cameron has this time opted for a balls-out, adrenaline-pumping, carnage-exalting trailer in the traditional sense and he's nailed it.
Many of you were left rather cold by the previous footage, which teased rather than revealed and emphasised the film's more emotional beats - perhaps in a backfired marketing initiative to lure in the Titanic crowd. However, it would seem Cameron has returned to the welcoming embrace of his core audience this time around, showcasing more of the film's dynamic action set pieces and giving a better sense of both the story and the scale of the conflict that's in store.
To our minds this only reaffirms the credentials of what has to be the year's most exciting release. For those still harbouring doubts, though, this should go a long way to allaying fears that Cameron's decade-long hiatus has dulled his edge. So watch it and enjoy. Then imagine how unapologetically kick-ass this will look in full 3D!
Avatar hits cinemas December 17. Oh, and while you're here, we also have a couple of new film stills from the movie for you to take a look at.
You know, it might just pull off something impressive. A race of blue skinned, intelligent beings - close to nature with their own language - tackling an industrious enemy who wish to eliminate them to exploit the secret they protect.
Gripping stuff, but isn't it about time they showed us a good shot of Gargamel.
... You mean this isn't an adaptation of the smurfs, but they are so similar. I think this might be a case of pla... ... Read More
This film is not just going to have to be an incredible 3D experience to impress me but it'll have to dance a jig, remember my birthday and make me toast every day for a week before it even comes close to reaching the dizzy heights of astonishery that the rest of the world seem to think it's already attained.
Keeping an open mind though ... Read More
I am no studio plant but I am a MAJOR James Cameron fan and I think this will be awesome.

CGI movies are becoming so tired, this looks like the Star Wars prequels minus the emotional bond (the only thing that kept me watching those was mis-guided hope). I know CGI has advanced, it supposedley advances with every new blockbuster (congratulations 2012), but there is something definately missing (compare Terminator Salvation and Transformers 2 with Jason and The Argonauts) I feel like I'm watching computer games on a very large screen. CGI should be embraced but in sparing doses (Juras... Read More
I think this trailer is awesome, it seems to have everything needed in a modern film blockbuster. I can easilt anticipate the drama and the action, but my girlfriend can see the drama and the emotion in it. Even if you don't like the trailer, it reminds us of the immense back catalogue this writer/director/producer has given us, and let's face it, he hasn't let us down yet. ... Read More

I believe this would be better anticipated as a ride than a cinematic masterpiece, just like Jurassic Park was. It really doesn't look like it has any depth, the dialogue appears to be risible so far (though that didn't stop Titanic, did it?) and the plot seems merely functional, though the action sequences do look as though they could be thrilling in 3D. Probably going to be a great one off cinema experience and on blu ray/dvd you'll just skip to the good bits. So, it definitely doesn't deserve... Read More
not impressed. fair enough the mech-warrior style weaponry looks impressive but seriously, crap aliens and animals and a lot of the trailer involved lots of trees falling down. looks really disappointing. over-hyped in my opinion ... Read More

Yes, this is better than the teaser, as we get full doses of music, effects, battle and more story explanation too. However, if you think about it, it all does sound like it's been done before. And no, I don't mean Ferngully, or Pocahontas - I mean Dune.e may be a failure but at least it's an interesting one, full of brilliant visuals (and some pretty awful one's as well), a great cast (we'll forget about Sting for the moment) and with a gripping story in there somewhere. It'... Read More
