Von Trier Has Melancholia
Lars' next film gets underway

Following the cabin-in-the-woods craziness of Antichrist, chaos will shortly be reigning again, as Lars von Trier preps Melancholia.

It's apparently a "psychological disaster movie" (so what was Antchrist then?), with Melancholia seemingly the name of a large planet that (possibly) appears in dangerously close orbit to Earth. Details are scarce so far, so the extent to which this is the von Trier version of a sci-fi epic is unclear. He also says that the project is coming together quickly, with financing from all von Trier and Zentropa Entertainment's regular European co-conspirators.

RE:
Glad to see he can still find work after Antichrist.   And this looks amazing. I still have to see The Element of Crime to get a taste of of Von Trier sci-fi. More

Everytime i see one of his movies, i always vow never to watch any more of his movies. Silly, really, but then he does something completely fascinating and i end up going back again. Go figure. This sounds like one of his more interesting plots so i shall indeed go back again (and then complain again). More
