Jack Bauer Talks 24 Movie
Plans for big screen power hour on hold

24 July 2009  |  Written by James Dyer

Empire caught up with Jack Bauer this afternoon at Comic-Con's 24 panel. While taking in a sneak peak at the upcoming season eight, we got the skinny from Kiefer Sutherland on whether another 24 movie is in the works and whether a theatrical appearance might one day be on the cards.

"Well, there has been a lot of work done researching ideas for a film or a potential film franchise," explains Sutherland. "But the energy that's required to make the 24 episodes a year...  we agreed that we would put any serious planning for a film aside until we were finished with the series. So outside talking about ideas for a film it hasn’t gone any farther than that. But there are certainly some cool ideas and we’d love to make it.”

So no big screen Power hour (and a half?) for the forseeable future, though they're not ruling out a second feathure-length, standalone episode in the future. God dammit, Chloe!

24 movie
I love 24, and this could be awesome. But the whole idea of 24 is each episode lasts an hour of the day so...they'll have to change the original idea of it. Still could be good though More

RE:
o hear it, especially after I heard rumours that the film would be used as Jack's big send off. Bring on Day 8! More

While I do love "feathure-length" episodes, I really hope they can just get some decent writers to do away with the high-school romances that occur inside these supposed national security institutions, and maybe kill Jack to provide some actual suspense when he gets caught. More
