Exclusive: The Hurt Locker UK Poster
This is gonna hurt

23 July 2009  |  Written by Emily Phillips

Empire has this exclusive UK poster for fantastic new war drama The Hurt Locker.

Directed by Kathryn 'Point Break' Bigelow, it follows an elite bomb disposal unit tasked with disarming explosives during war-zone crossfire.

New sergeant, James (played by 28 Weeks Later's Jeremy Renner), dices with death on a daily basis and feeling no fear, begins to engage his subordinate officers Sanborn and Eldridge (Anthony Mackie and Brian Geraghty), in an almost suicidal game of urban combat.

The Hurt Locker hits UK cinemas from August 28.

Interesting 5 star review from Empire, slight hyperbole I think. I saw this movie over a year ago and thought it was excellent but question if it is "one of the greatest American films of the decade".....surely that honour would fall to There Will Be Blood?! However, one thing is not in question, it is the best movie made about the Iraq war so far and a wise choice to stay away from any political nonsense. More

I saw the trailer months ago and was very impressed and excited. It's been a while since Kathryn Bigelow did anything worth watching so I'm keeping an open mind. More

Does anyone else think that war 'dramas' are bit of brain washing and proganda? Just seen the trailer, and yet more white man & his lapdog to save the world. I suppose it requires standing back a little further than the sofa to understand that. More

I've heard of this film before but I did'nt think it would be getting the kind of write up it's getting, especially a 5 star review from you guys. I'll add this one to my list. More
