Alice In Wonderland Teaser Trailer
First look at Burton's adaptation
Source: Yahoo! Movies

Alice In Wonderland Teaser Trailer

It was leaked, it was pulled, and now it's back. We can now officially enjoy the teaser trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland!

A minute and a half of pure Burton-ness, it's largely a moving version of the hi-res stills we've already seen. It's our first look at the toothy Cheshire Cat however (to be voiced by Stephen Fry), and the first time we've seen Crispin Glover as the Knave of Hearts. He sports a fetching heart-shaped eyepatch.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the focus is mostly on Jonny Depp's Mad Hatter, who narrates the trailer in a fruity British accent ("Some say to survive here you'd need to be mad as a hatter. Luckily I am.") and is shown berating Alice for being late ("Naughty!"); cackling like Jack Nicholson's Joker; and throwing a topper like Oddjob.

There's some idea of how the 3D will be used too, particularly during Alice's descent down the rabbithole.

The trailer was officially revealed as the result of a Facebook competition: users had to take sides with either the Red or White Queen, or the Hatter. The Hatter won.

WHERE'S HER ALICE BAND?
I'm looking forward to this, but they should have gone with a younger girl & I'm SO f'ing sick of J.Depp and HBC in all of Burton's movies now - boring! Why is there so much of him in the trailer too? He's only one of many characters, I hope they don't make it all about the mad hatter. Main problem is where is Alice's Alice Band??? It's like the mad hatter without his hat!! I love Burton, but he's ruining his movies with his casting of those two all the time & he proved with Charlie &... Read More

RE: I was looking forward to this...
Apparently at Comic Con they showed a version of the trailer which we havent seen yet. It had a full body Cheshire Cat and the music was 'Time to Pretend' by MGMT. It's meant to look something like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSL3gyWUxH0 ... Read More

I was looking forward to this...
....but it now seems, as someone has said, like CGI - overkill. It doesn't look remotely British or magical. And why is Alice an 18 year old when she is 8 in the books, and she looks like she is wearing a v. sexy slinky off the shoulder dress too. And lets not get started on the Cheshire Cat that looks like one of those annoying smiley-emoticon thingys. I'll keep my eye on it tho, to see how it develops. ... Read More

Slightly Disappointed
There has been such hype for this film, and when I found out Burton, one of my favourite directors, was going to direct one of the most brilliant and insane fantasy books ever, I thought it was going to be mind-blowing; the darker more horrific side of the tale. But after viewing the trailer I feel like this may not be what it should or could have been, only time will tell. ... Read More

Can't wait for this. Of course it was a sure fire bet that Depp would have been cast somewhere in this but can't think of anyone better for the Mad Hatter. The story of Alice is odd to say the least - Burton was made to direct this! ... Read More

Not quite right
I adore the books, I am fairly disapointed in the trailer. I agree, why does he have to have his wife and Depp in everything. I like Depp but he's not right for the part. Burton twists everything to his liking without thought for the audience. The CGI is poor, white rabbit a dissapointment, Where the Wild Things are seem to have it right with just the faces being CGI. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. ... Read More
