Is Dodgeball 2 Happening?
Stiller waylays Lance Armstrong

09 July 2009  |  Written by Owen Williams  |  Source: Yahoo

Buried in a story about the Tour de France at Yahoo Sport is the suggestion that Ben Stiller is attempting to sign Lance Armstrong up for "a proposed sequel to Dodgeball".

Armstrong has a cameo in the original, in which he lays a guilt trip on Vince Vaughn that persuades him to get back on the court.

Armstrong was late signing in for yesterday's racing, and cheerfully blamed Stiller. Yahoo's story claims that Dodgeball 2 will bear a strong cycling influence; that George Hincaple will replace Vince Vaughn; and that Jens Voigt will take Chuck Norris' role.

This is presumably cycling humour. Ho ho, eh readers?

RE: hmmmm
I don't think they should bother. The film seemed pretty much complete and done with.   They did a pretty good job too if I remember correctly. Move on, try something new. Go on... you may surprise yourself... More

That's a preeeeetty loose segway into sequel talk from yahoo. He's probably just mates with Stiller. More

RE: Has There Ever Been A Comedy Sequel To Rival The Original?
I can only think of one. 'Son of Paleface' is the  Bob Hope sequel to 'The Paleface' and is much funnier. More

Has There Ever Been A Comedy Sequel To Rival The Original?
I love Dodgeball. And I'm also not against the idea of a sequel. In fact, I'm looking forward to it! But reading this story, I just started thinking of the Scream 2 debate. Sure, there have been superior sequels, some of my favourite movies are sequels, but has there ever been a comedy sequel that can compare to it's predecessor? And if not, why not? More

Heck Yes!
... but only if they bring back the most important characters. By that I mean Blade ... Lazer ... and ... Blazer! Otherwise they'll have their taints handed to them! More
