Joss Whedon Talks New Buffy Movie
Unsurprisingly, he won't be involved

12 June 2009  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: EW.com

EW.com spoke to Joss Whedon about the second series of Dollhouse, and asked him about the recently annouced movie about Buffy the Vampire Slayer. As you'd expect, Whedon was not enthused but as gentlemanly as ever.

"I believe [the producers] did ultimately reach out to my agent after the news broke," Whedon says. "I think that's something better left untouched by me. So, I wish them luck."

Since approximately no one wants to see a Buffy movie that Whedon is not involved in, and since most of the fanbase is sufficiently clued up to check whether he's involved or not, we can't imagine that luck doing much good.

Head on over to EW.com for more on Dollhouse, which after a rocky start is shaping up well for the second season.

Maid Marian Movie - Please!!
Any chance someone could toss the DVD box set of Tony Robinson's Children's BBC series "Maid Marian and Her Merry Men" at Joss and see what he thinks? I've always thought that would work very well as a film, especially if Joss was able to give his spin on the strong female lead. More

No Whedon? No Gellar? No chance.

Y'know there's a teeny element that says to me that the WonderWoman movie sans Whedon is maybe an idea... it isnt the kind of character to neccesarily benefit from his trademark humour and pop-culture reference (though at the same time her not having a clue of any of it woulda worked). But this... this IS whedons. Buffy sans Whedon is... just bad really. heh. my guess? they figure they'v seent he show ad can make it without him. I expect far too much and far too obvious pop-culture referencing a More

What on earth are they thinking with doing a Buffy movie without Wheldon? It's going to be a complete disaster, just give up now and come up with an original idea for once in your lives. . . . More

Dollhouse is getting very interesting. About Buffy, I liked the way season 7 finished. She finally found a chance to live a normal life as she'd always wished for. It was full of hope and I, personally preffer to keep that end in mind than all the strange things that are happening on season eight. However, I strongly believe another buffy story without Whedon has no sense at all. It would be like one of those fanfics, no matter who else wrote or directed the story. More
