Arquettes May Be Ready To Scream Again? Couple to join reboot of 'old' franchise Source: EW.com
It seems that Hollywood's creative bankruptcy continues, as after years of speculation the none-more-90s Scream films do a Beverly Hills 90210 and get 'rebooted' just over a decade after the original was made. And it seems that some of the original cast members, in the shape of David and Courtney Cox Arquette, might be thrown in for good measure.
Kevin Williamson, who wrote the originals for Wes Craven to direct, has been hacking out a brand new trilogy for the horror helmsman. He has pitched to the Couple Arquette, who are apparently thinking seriously about his proposition. According to reports, Courtney (who met future husband David whilst making the film) is trying to work out scheduling conflicts which may arise if her new pilot Cougar Town gets picked up for a series.
Other Scream stalwarts who could be in line for a cameo include Neve Campbell (who is now a serious thesp with a career on the stage), Matthew Lillard (who faded into rubber-faced obscurity soon after the originals), Skeet "pale imitation of Depp" Ulrich and Drew Barrymore (who probably has other things to do with her time).
A few problems here: if all the old stars are involved, isn't it a sequel rather than a 'reboot'? And didn't at least three of those supposed cameo stars die already in the series? Any why bother? If the original film was a wry, self-regarding slasher movie, doesn't a 'reboot' risk disappearing into its own navel?
Production of Scream 4 is apparently set to commence this Autumn for a 2010 release. But who would you like to see face off with The Ghostface Killer?
The ghost face killer starts a rap career and disses Ghostface Killah leading to stabbings and drive buys on each others entourages before leading to a rap battle to the death (that could also be the tagline) ... Read More

I dunno, Kevin Williamson is on board it could be good. I would most definitely welcome a follow up trilogy rather than a reboot, let's face it, the murder mystery and the comedy aspects of this franchise are rather entertaining. But I'd love good old Sydney Prescott aka Ms Neve Campbell to be part of the project too. That's just me though... ... Read More

How about all the original actors play themselves but ghost face thingy turns out to be a real monster killing people?
No one's ever done that before have they?
Yeah for one of the Nightmare On Elm Street films. A New Nightmare?
Y'know, there is a slim chance that Granny might, just might, have been being sarcastic....
