Ryan Reynolds Talks Deadpool
He will be scarred and masked

01 June 2009  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: HitFix

Ryan Reynolds has been doing the publicity rounds recently to talk about The Proposal, but he took time out to tell the guys over at HitFix a few tiny hints about  Deadpool.

"We're just trying to break a story right now and figure out who the villain is going to be and all that stuff," he said. "But, it's going to be just like the comic books. I'm gonna have a messed up face and you may see some flashbacks of Wade earlier in his life, but primarily what you see is what you get in the comics and that's the goal."

We hope that has assuaged the worst of your concerns: Reynolds at least is passionate about the character and happy to hide his gorgeous mug for the sake of fidelity. What a guy. For the full story, head on over to the link above.

Hell Yeah
At last some sense from Fox. I think that with Reynolds' passion for the character this film will be amazing. However they need to make it like a 15 or something to show the pointless violence and maniac streaks of 'pool. Fourth wall needs to be broken and He needs to talk to himself, along with breaking out into random song!!!!!! More

I can't...
...trust a fucking thing this guy says about Deadpool. He said he loved the idea of playing the character, then was implicit in his rape. So I'm holding back all excitement for this one. Another way to look at it: squeeeeeee! More

RE: then end of x-men?
I thought Ryan Reynolds was hilarious in Wolverine, (well that is until you know...) I really enjoyed his character not as much as Wolverine, but his character was cool. I like Ryan Reynolds too, he's just funny, and he's a good actor as well. More

then end of x-men?
I recond they're gonna say something about like a clone of him and that wasn't actually him but his face is fucked. I really think this guy is gonna do it well and it'll be something good and a little dark and very funny. Could be the next Iron man. More

This guy was born to play Deadpool. Roll on 2012, or whatever. More

Also check out this interview
http://uk.movies.ign.com/articles/988/988457p1.html He talks to IGN in quite a lot of depth for a movie that hasn't even been written yet - but I'm encouraged by his comment that it most likely won't worry about tying itself in to Wolverine too faithfully. So we probably don't have to sit through any awkward scenes of him re-attaching his head. More

hell yeah!
this news has made my day :-D if they get this film about the merc with the mouth right then it will be amazing :-) oh and gusbuster it is covered. He has the same healing factor as Wolverine and has been known to re-grow/re-attatch his head on several occasions... More

Denogginated
***** WOLVERINE SPOILER!******** I think the character looks really interesting, and I'm glad they're letting Reynolds run with a spinoff, but I'm a little confused about how they're going to bring Deadpool back when I'm fairly sure Wolverine whopped his head clean off at the end Xmen Origins. Is this covered in the comics at all? More

I love the passion this guy has for the character. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they do with it. More
