Full Pandorum Trailer Now Online
Foster, Quaid, Gigandet, monsters

28 May 2009  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

Dennis Quaid, Ben Foster and Cam Gigandet star in Christian Alvart's Pandorum, and there's a new trailer online. For those keeping score at home, this gives us our second Euro-directed sci-fi movie trailer story in as many days (after Nr Nobody yesterday).

The film sees Quaid and Foster wake up from cryo-sleep aboard a spaceship with little memory of who they are or what their mission is. They venture into the body of the ship to find out more - and find more than they bargained for.

We suspect that this trailer may be somewhat spoilerific - it seems to show what synopses and previous teasers barely hinted at - but it does look like scary, atmospheric stuff, and gives Quaid in particular a welcome break from playing avuncular types in indie rom-coms or someone's father in a kid's movie. Also, Cam "Gigidy-gigidy" Gigandet of Twilight appears in it, so it should get a considerable teen following - something that already seems to be troubling Gigandet himself.

RE: dead space
I think it looks alright. Certainly better than Resident Evil.  More

RE: dead space
Considering that this was being made well before Dead Space was released I would its more likely both the film and game took thier cues from the space horror genre already in place.   I think it looks interestng. Sure its likely to have some cliches but many gangster films, romantic comedies etc.. have cliches that we all enjoy. The space horror genre isn't all that big and is pretty much Alien > everything else.   Fingers crossed that this turns out decent. More

Wow, generic space-horror from A-to-Z. Why doesn't anybody start a new space-adventure franchise inspired by the Peter F. Hamilton books? That stuff could genuinely be the new Star Wars. More

this looks uncannily like the very brilliant game Dead Space, only very very naff More

Is there an Alien anniversary coming up?
There is nothing worth seeing in Pandorum; it seems a very bad take on other movies. The ship and scares are right out of Alien, the story (along with set and scares too) out of Event Horizon - minus the eye gouging and invention, and it seems to be paycheque-alley for every actor in this going by this awful trailer. Straight to DVD?BR I think. More

If Ben Foster's in it, I'll watch it. The crappy voice over kind of ruins the trailer though...BUT...Dennis Quaid's in it too... More
