The Book
I liked the first half of the book, but the rest was so soppy I wanted to vomit, so I hope Jackson brings the drama back into the final half. Like the look of the pic though. More

I'm still not convinced. I dislike the book, the casting of the father is problematic. But I do like Jackson. I'm just not sure if it is enough to get me to part with my cinema £s for this.
'm reading the book now, and I love it. Though I agree that the casting of Wahlberg as the father is problematic. I don't think he can pull off the type of emotion he's character tries to evoke, I just don't see Wahlberg as that sort of actor.

As much a fan I am of LOTR, I cant see this being any good. The book was dull and drawn out (something Jackson is very familiar with) and the casting is ALL wrong. Rachel Weisz and Saorsie Ronan are the only good things about this film More

Believe me...I've read the script and Heaven will look nothing like that in the film. I think this pic is just for promo purposes or for the poster to convey the "heavenly" aspect to people. More

who cares about the watermark?
a bit of an over reaction to the watermark lads. feel the matter of more importance is the current form of Mark Whalberg. Having watched Max Payne the other day, I just can't get over how bad he was in it!he'd acting was terrible, and the seen where he's tryin to cry when some lad is talkin shit about his wife an kid, is the most cringing scene i'v ever seen him in (iv seen the scene where he talks to the plant in the happening). So i pursume this film will involve crying an gettin emitional, so More

Oh, and will Jackson make this twice as long as it needs to be, as he did with his bloated version of "King Kong"?

And as for Heaven, yawn. Doesn't look any different in that shot from any other depiction of religious fantasy. Jackson is now Kubrick, taking far far far too long to produce a pic that shoulda been released ages ago. It will flop.

I think that's a little harsh. It probably wont flop. If anything, it will probably be a success due to the cast and fans of the book.
I put a lot of trust in to Jackson as a film maker as he (generally) delivers top films.

Beautiful
This looks like it will take on more of the style of Heavenly Creatures, which is no bad thing. To my (limited) knowledge, the reason this has taken so lond is that Jackson wasn't being shackled by a mjot studio and therefore took his time in PP - and he has been busy with a few other things.............I know it is another thread but whilst I'm fine with the Hobbit spanning the 2 films, I will be bitterly disappointed if there isn't a little bit of bridging if only to allow for the 'return' of More

The watermark has to be there to protect the exclusive though. There are plenty of movie sites and blogs out there reporting on it already - so until they can do the cheeky scan from the magazine itself, they gotta have a big, f*ck-off Empire logo on it! More
