New Year One Trailer
Jack Black and Michael Cera go caveman

20 March 2009  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

Good news for fans of Jack Black and Michael Cera: both are doing what they do best in the new trailer for Year One, the Harold Ramis comedy set in the ancient world. Click here to see the theatrical trailer.

The film sees Cera and Black play lazy hunter-gatherers banished by their tribe, who go on a sort of road trip throughout the civilisations of the ancient world. Along the way, Black attempts to romance a more civilised hottie while Cera has to rescue his village crush, who's been captured and sold into slavery.

We're going to go ahead and say that historical accuracy is very much taking a back seat to laughs in this one, but it's a promising trailer, suggesting that Cera's laid-back awkwardness and Black's manic self-confidence could fit together rather well. Year One is out on June 19.

Probably worth a watch. Cera (typecast he may be) is always worth a look. Jack Black is Jack Black and if that is Paul Rudd then it's a dead cert for at least a moment of quality (honestly why isn't he a bigger star). More
