Snyder's Last Photograph Gets A Director
Sergei Bodrov will direct the war movie

06 March 2009  |  Written by Chris Hewitt

Busy week for Zack Snyder. Friday sees his excellent adaptation of Watchmen open in cinemas, at long, long last. A couple of days, the provisional cast for his next movie, Sucker Punch, was announced. And today, Sergei Bodrov has signed on to direct The Last Photograph, a war drama that Snyder will produce.

The 60 year-old Bodrov was last seen behind the camera on the acclaimed Genghis Khan biopic, Mongrel, and is something of an unusual choice, at first glance. But Snyder’s instincts have served him well thus far.

The Last Photograph, which is based on an original Snyder idea, was written by Kurt Johnstad. It’s about two men who are inspired to travel to Afghanistan by the titular photograph. And that’s all we know thus far.

Warner Bros. will be picking up the tab on this, with Snyder’s Cruel & Unusual Films producing, along with Hollywood Gang.

Come on, Chris!
I would like to add to Banky's comment. How can you get the title wrong when it is a biopic about a MONGOLian?! More
