Brand New Clip From In The Loop
Plus Obama inspired poster artwork

05 March 2009  |  Written by Emily Phillips  |  Source: Guardian

It's nearly time for us to get In The Loop, with the release of the acerbic satire next month. To get everyone prepped, a brand-new clip has been released, plus a rather pop-arty red and blue Barack Obama style campaign poster.

Spiralling off from director Armando Iannucci's BBC political comedy In The Thick Of It, it follows two sides of a trans-atlantic plot to invade a Middle-eastern country. With sceptics on both sides, including the imposing American General Miller played by James Gandolfini and British Minister of International Development Simon Foster, played by Tom Hollander.

This brand new clip shows Peter Capaldi's director of communications Malcolm Tucker laying into Chris Addison's aide Toby with a slew of The Thick Of It style colourful expletives. The scene also features Hollander's Foster and the unflappable assistant Judy played by Gina McKee.

Check out the In The Loop clip here.

Magnificence from beginning to end
Saw this at Glasgow Film Festival and can confirm it is absolutely as great as it looks. As good as, if not even better than, The Thick Of It. Peter Capaldi as Malcolm Tucker is legendary but it's by no means a one-man-show. The entire cast are astounding. At risk of resorting to a tired cliche, I was in stitches throughout. The swearing is, as usual, astounding and awe-inspiring. Only early March and I'm already willing to wager this is the best comedy of the year, if not the decade. Alth More
