what an amazing looking film!
ive read the book and it is a fantastic story full of everything.
the trailer was amazing and has only hyped me up more. Depp looks amazing and so does Bale. (even though im not a bale fan i think he is going to give a super performace)
alot of your reviews are complaing about Bale not having a big part in the trailer im not being biest but you have to remember that the main character Dillenger is played my Depp so its going to have a lot of him in the trailer. More

Now THIS, this is Christian Bale in a Film that looks (and more than likely will be), pretty damn good. BTW, lona_no_friends, I do agree with you that the trailer was a bit thin on the Bale footage but let's face it, Depp would steal the show even if he only had a five minute cameo in this movie. Looks pretty damned good, but where was all the Christian Bale? I love how any film with Johnny Depp in it will focus primarily on the fact that Johnny Depp is in it. It may as well have read 'Starring JOHNNY BLOODY DEPP!!!... and a bunch of other people...' More

Interesting to see he's using the Viper method he's been honing since Collateral on this one, a period piece. Gives it a harder, grittier edge than we're perhaps used to. There are some pretty strong links between this and Heat. Depp even utters the same line DeNiro does ("We're here for the banks money, not yours)!

| Another good'un from the Mann-ster |
There is definiatley a Heat feel to it it, and also a mix with Depp's very own Blow.
Looks great, sounds great, looking forward to this a lot, though it's a shame we didn't see a lot of Bale to balance the overuse of Depp (if yoiu can overuse Depp that is). He's obviously adverse to awards so releases his films out of the loop (Novemeber - January) as his movies would win Oscars and the such aplenty - especially the almighty Heat. More

| Some wee just came out... |
I'm loving the look of the HD cameras personally, only Michael Mann movies look this way because he uses natural light where possible and it gives all his movies a real immediacy! This could look like just another smooth, hollywood biopic in the vain of Sam Mendes etc but he's managed to give a film set in the 1930's a realistic, documentary film that I feel draws you into the action - you feel like you're actually in the bank while the robbery is occuring! I accepted the HD look in the context of modern urban movies like Collateral and Miami Vice, but it's just wrong for a period piece. Oh so wrong. Yet I agree, Fincher managed to make Zodiac NOT look like HD, so why does this look like a high quality home movie? More
