Christopher Nolan Set For Inception
He's making a sci-fi action film

Rejoice and be glad, for Christopher Nolan has decided upon a follow-up to the billion-dollar success of The Dark Knight, and is making a sci-fi action film called Inception that he wrote himself.

The plan is to shoot the film this summer for release in summer 2010, with Nolan directing and producing (along with his partner Emma Thomas). But what else do we know about the film? Well, pretty much nothing: it's said to be "a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind", which we're assuming is not saying it's a remake of The Cell, even though that's the closest example to that particular definition we've got.

At this point, we'd be pleased if Nolan said he was planning to direct a movie adaptation of his weekly shopping list, so he's positively spoiling us with a sci-fi action film. He is also, incidentally, attached to direct a big-screen version of The Prisoner before he possibly, maybe, perhaps returns for another Batman film. We'll keep you updated as we hear more.

Nolan is a BEAST (the good kind)
Nolan is a beast, I would buy him a pint any day, and then dinner and perhaps pay his mortgage for a year. More

RE:
I'd love to see Nolan turn his hand to a straight up crime flick but I'm definetly looking forward to this. More

Oh yes, looking forward to this. Nolan's one of my favourite director's so it'll be interesting to see him do sci-fi. More

Foundation
How much more excited would us sci-fi geeks be about Foundation if Chris Nolan had signed up to direct instead of Roland Bloody Emmerich..... More

Number 6!
The prisoner is an awesome series, picked it up on DVD, would love to see it brought to a wider audience, but maybe with a slightly more... 'comprehendible' ending! More

RE: It's gonna awesome
It's sci-fi so it's more of a draw for me than The Presitige - haven't seen it, not saying it's bad, just saying it doesn't appeal to me at face value. More

Nolan = Spielberg?
Y'know, skimming these comments, something kinda occured to me... Nolan is sort of on the same golden road Spielber was in the 70s/80s/90s(00s too in some cases, but less so). His stuff is even in the same aproximate genre. More

Ha, The Cell was a huge steaming bag of minced sheeps testicles. An Ex bought it for me hoping that her love of J-lo and my love of Sci-Fi would find some common ground. She was sadly incorrect. I will look forward to this with baited breath however. More

YES!!!
As long as we see another Nolan film soon I will always be pleased. I know nothing of this new project but it is already my most anticipated film for the next two years. Just look at what he has done; Memento, The Prestige, Batman x2 and Insomnia. Seriously, has this man made a bad movie ever? More

INT. TESCO. DAY
He should make a movie about his shopping list - or just film his weekly shopping trip. We'd probably all see it, anyway. More

I'm waiting to see if there's anything this man can't do. I hope i never do because the words 'Nolan', 'Sci-Fi', and 'Action' are enough to keep my adrenaline running for a very long time. Can't wait. More

The Moments The Words Say...
"From The Director of The Dark Knight" this will instantly become a multi-million dollar producing film. If this can live up to the likes of his other such films like The Prestige or Momento, I am sure that we are all in for something big. More

there's no doubt in my mind...
that he'll do the sequel to TDK after this. the studio wants him to, the fans want him to... I'm sure the studio will be able to convince him. "do this and we'll let you do anything you want" kind of deal. wasn't it goyer who said they'd been working on some ideas? I am hopeful that they'll come up with something they're all happy with. at least this gives us some kind of time frame in which we can expect the TDK sequel. I think we'll see it summer 2011. anyways, looking forward to Inc More

after the critical and financial success of Dark Knight....
.....is he really going to return for another, when he can't really top what he did with Dark Knight and may be just setting himself up for a fall? I hope so, but I won't be surprised in the slightest if he passes on it. Hopefully the studio won't be too cash hungry for another to push him into making the next one before he wants to. More

This is the best movie news in months. Nolan is the most excting director in the last 10 years in my opinion. U only have to look at the related reviews on the left hand of the screen. I would agree with all those ratings, maybe just add a star to memento now i finally seen it. Few directors are so consistent. Hope he keeps the record going. More

Agreed!
Personally my favourite of his movies is The Prestige, but Batman's cool too. He used to be attached to a comic book called The Exec. Does anyone know if we'll ever see that. Also, I would liked to have seen his Howard Hughes movie, which I believe was shelved due to The Aviator being in production... F*ck me, I'm a geek. More

Happy days!
Yep, agree with you there Helen - the life and times of a flee turned into a movie by Nolan would be exciting - the casting for this one would be interesting too. As for the prisoner though - am I right in thinking that a new TV series is being made with Ian McKellen and James Cavizel - would a movie too be a bit of overkill?? Feel free anyone to out me right on this one... More

AWESOME can't wait, personally i think its good he sets his creative mind on something else other than Batman then after this film ( which will no doubt be great) and a break he can go straight in to Batman 3. More
