With March 6 and the release of Watchmen fast approaching, the new issue of Empire magazine has a character-by-character look at the stars of the film, in Clay Enos' gorgeous black-and-white shots.

These stills of Rorschach, The Comedian, Ozymandias, Silk Spectre and Nite Owl come from the new Watchmen: Portraits book, a coffee table behemoth that contains Enos' massive assembly of posed shots of both cast (from leads to extras) and crew.

All these shots, plus interviews with all the characters and much ore besides, are in the new issue of Empire, out on Friday.
Empire Magazine Issue 237

Watchmen: Portraits is out now from Titan Books.

RE: Masterpiece?
I would have remained calm if the silly man hadn't kept arguing over and calling  me a tit for something I didn't actually say. posted links to some of the photos in the future films forum.  I'd say they looked really good, but apparently it's frowned upon in these forums to say anything positive, so be warned.  More

I think you lad(ie)s should calm the fuck down, really...   Meanwhile, has anyone else checked out Total Film's exclusives? They're rather good, too, y'know... They've got Nite Owl's snow costume. More

L: KeithM Yes, you simply must.  n't know if the film will actually be any good or not] but one thing I absolutely do know 100% - it ain't no Batman & Robin.  I want you to realise once you've seen it why even saying it makes you sound very, very silly (I have to ASSume you've never read the book or you'd know why).  Even a watered down Watchmen (which this doesn't seem to remotely be) would still be a million miles away from B&R.  Don't be fooled by the campy More

RE: Masterpiece?
I didn't compare it to the Godfather - I was making a point to counter your silly attempted comparison which ly stated does not compare in any way to this adaptation.I clearly stated that this movie will either stand or fall on its own merit and your attempts at comparison with gelevant and silly. Where do I say that the film 'must be amazing' - I said the signs were good, t we will have to wait another month to know for sure.his is all about you saying it might be another Batman & Rob More

RE: Masterpiece?
Oh Seriously? Listen, I've read the book... countless times.... I just don't sit clapping my hands watching every film preview going "This MUST be amazing! Hollywood won't let me down!" After Indy, SW.. jesus, every hyped film bar TDK, I just don't think its right to label a film a masterpiece before its seen! Fuck the 'source material'.... it obviously CAN fail. I HOPE it won't but, in Hollywood history, in prob will. THATS. ALL. Oh... and don't compare it to the Godfather, More

L: UGonnaBarkAllDayDog? Must I simply? My point is that you shouldn't really go round calling something a 'Masterpiece' until you have actually viewed it.. Oh, and just because the book is a materpiece (agreed) doesn't mean the film will be. That you even think about mentioning that in a post is very worrying! Erm... Dan Brown? Stephen King? PLUS.. Dead dog in the alley...
What I find interesting is the number of people complaining about the rumoured changes the movie will make to the original source material - especially when the Hobbit is the cover story for this month's Empire. Are these the same people that complained over and over about the changes Peter Jackson made to his LOTR masterpiece before they'd actually seen it? From what I've seen so far ovie looks fantastic. They said it couldn't be filmed, I'm sure someone once told Peter Jackson the sam More

...
Is it only me that thinks this film a complete waste of time? The novel is perfect, and chunks have been removed for the film. All we'll be seeing is what was in the novel, and if they change it, it will be a lesser film. Same with Harry Potter, and many others. At least films like American Psycho and Fight Club ADD to the source material. More

L: UGonnaBarkAllDayDog? Not my copy of Empire yesterday. Has anyone noticed that Empire call Watchmen a "Masterpiece"?ere they referring to Watchmen itself or specifically to the movie? Watchmen IS a masterpiece.  The movie just should be. ks one runs the risk of feeling a little ashamed when this turns out to be another Batman and Robin. :D] No, really, I mean ust the ene(which we know is there in its entirety) will ensure that isn't remotely a concern - and knowing More

That final poster looks rather nifty. Should have stuck it on the cover of Empire rather than Gollum. If this film turns out to be anywhere near what the book is - I'll be happy. Even if they tweak the ending - I'll be happy. Even if they use CGI to wipe out Dr. Manhattan's naughty bits - I'll be happy. Stop nitpicking you nitpickers.... ...they said this book couldn't be done as a film.....and now...........brilliance awaits.......................I hope...... More
