See Pictures Of Guinea Pigs!
Also known as the first G-Force images

See Pictures Of Guinea Pigs!

What better way to start the day than with some sumptuously rendered imagery of Earth's most entertaining rodent: the guinea pig. Out of the hutch and in the big bad world, the stars of Hoyt Yeatman's G-Force (not to be confused with the heroes of cult animation Battle Of The Planets) are here revealed in all their fluffy glory.

The film - featuring the vocal stylings of Bill Nighy, Will Arnett, Nicolas Cage, Penelope Cruz and Jon Favreau, among others - focuses on a crack group of guinea pig commandos who have been trained as part of a special government initiative.

Here are a few interesting facts about guinea pigs:

  1. The guniea pig is sometimes called the Cavy after its scientific name, Cavia porcellus.
  2. Despite the name they are not pigs and do not come from Guinea.
  3. Some indigenous South American peoples consider the guinea pig an important part of their culture - especially as a light snack.
  4. The common guinea pig was first domesticated as early as 5000 BC.
  5. Queen Elizabeth I had one.
