Fifth Terminator Underway Already
Due in 2011

Terminator Salvation is still some months off, but positive fan reaction to the internet trailers that are out there has led to production company Halcyon to announce plans for a fifth instalment already.

This doesn't come as any great surprise, given that the film was already the first in a planned trilogy, with star Christian Bale signed up for three films already. Still, the news that it has a planned release date of 2011 is fresh, and shows that the filmmakers are feeling pretty confident in the wake of positive buzz on the trailers to date.

McG was in Dubai, where the announcement was made, and suggested that the Middle East might be a shooting location for the film - but that's got to be taken with a pinch of salt given that he could have been playing to the crowd, and has a well-known fear of flying (which led him to drop out of Superman Returns, remember).

But for more news on the fifth film, we'll most likely have to wait until closer to the release date of Terminator Salvation (which has thankfully lost its "The Future Begins" suffix) on June 5.

RE: Bale
I don't understand why people are worried Bale will not appear in either batman 3 or T5? The T4 teaser came from a week or two of filming and filming only last for several weeks. Besides he need to get very fit to play these parts so he can easily train for both roles. Killing two birds with one stone. More

Bale
Dear Christian You are Britain best actor along with Day-lewis. You bring authenticity to pretty much every role you play.  AND Yes your new Terminator trailer looks good. However as someone who ferventry prayed you would get the Batman role and after 2 great films, im confused. You apparently sign up to make 3 flog-the-dead horse, sequels to terimnator, directed by a man with no decent films under his belt (who might do a good job on this, but whos previous work is sha More

RE: It is back
I wouldn't be surprised if we're waiting a little longer for the next Batman film.  That may not be a bad thing.   Anyway, if Terminator Salvation is as entertaining as the trailers suggest then it may pull the franchise back from the ruin of T3 in which case I'd welcome a trilogy provided the story is good.  T2 managed to be a worthy sequel by building on and enriching the story from T1.  I hope the writers behind this new trilogy can do something similar. L: Tech_Noir L: Taz69 Sorry, couldn't resist. The trailers are awesome, really looking forward to seeing the movie. McG is probably in Dubaii kissing up to the money men. Lets face it the only available money around in the entire world is from the middle east (ask Man City) Damn straight, I've developing a feature project with a company in London and their financial source is Jordan. ote] I'm working on a feature in Dubai at the moment - all the money that was in Dubai was More

RE: clashing with 3rd Batman film
McG was gonna direct Superman Returns? How does Charlie's Angels guy get these kinda of offers???   I dont think they are gonna kill off Connor because Christian Bale is signed on to do 3 Terminator films. And Christopher Nolan has stated that he has no interest doing another Batman film, but he also said the same thing after Batman Begins, so we'll just have to wait and see (I bring that up because I assume you are talking about scheduling confilcts with More
