Michael Cera Has Made Paper Hearts
Without anyone knowing about it. Sneaky

26 November 2008  |  Written by Chris Hewitt  |  Source: The Hollywood Reporter

In this day and age, where most movies can’t take a break for tea without sites like, well, this one, leaping all over it, it’s either refreshing or annoying to learn that a movie can be written, cast, and shot completely under the radar.

Especially when that movie involves a pretty high-profile star.

Yet that’s the case with Paper Hearts, a part-documentary, part-scripted comedy focusing on the relationship between Superbad’s Michael Cera and his real-life girlfriend, comedienne Charlyne Yi, who appeared briefly in Knocked Up.

Sounds very interesting and, in some ways, a logical extension of Cera’s webcom, Clark & Michael, in which he also played a version of himself. Frankly, we’re yet to be convinced that the 20 year-old can do any wrong, even with rumours that he may not return for the Arrested Development movie, and news that he’s filmed a movie without anyone knowing makes him even cooler.

Paper Hearts was directed by Nicholas Jasenovec who, like Cera and Yi, is a Judd Apatow protégé. This is his first film and, as it doesn’t have a distributor, it’s expected to cause a stir if it shows up at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

WhatwhatWHAT?!
He might not do Arrested Development?! Christ, is it worth making the film without George Michael? Well, yes, but damn it all to fuck, that'd be a bummer. More
