Timothy Olyphant To Star In The Crazies The George A. Romero thriller remake Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Little has been seen of the charismatic actor, Timothy Olyphant, since he starred as the eponymous bald assassin in the godawful Hitman.
But, after a period where, presumably, he went away and thought about what he had done, he’s surfaced again, and has signed on to star in the remake of George A. Romero’s The Crazies.
Directed by Breck Eisner, the remake follows the fortunes of the inhabitants of a small town in Kansas, most of whom are rendered psychotic when a foreign agent is introduced into the water.
Olyphant will play the town’s sheriff, a man trying to figure out just what the hell is going on.
We’re somewhat reassured by this. The last time Olyphant played a sheriff, he was Seth Bullock in the wonderful TV show, Deadwood, and if his character here is even half as interesting, that’ll mean he’s very interesting indeed. Plus, he’s a likeable and magnetic actor in need of a hit, man – hopefully The Crazies can deliver.
Excellent! I haven't seen Timothy in a good thing for ages, he was brilliant in Die Hard 4 and is stunning in Deadwood. He was also good in Rockstar, the most rocking movie ever right now for me. Hitman was a massive disappointment for me, not only I like him but Dougray Scott and they were let down by the crappy movie. When I heard the news, I am proud and happy that I can look out for him when it comes out. Rock on, Olyphant. Not only hot and sexy but talented too! ... Read More
Don't knock Olyphant, he was great in Go and Deadwood and Die Hard 4.0 was more watchable with him in it despite being saddled with a cut out villain role. ... Read More
Wow, I wasn't that excited about this project initially, but now that I know Olyphant is involved I'd rather drink hemlock from a rusty bucket of nails than go anywhere near this atrocity. ... Read More
