Exclusive: Fired Up Red Band Trailer
First look at cheerleader comedy

18 November 2008  |  Written by Helen O'Hara

Unless you run in terror from teen movies (and why would you do that? WHY?) we have a treat for you. We've got a first look at upcoming sports comedy Fired Up and you can see the new red-band trailer for it below.

The film stars Heroes' Nicholas D'Agosto and Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd's Eric Christian Olsen. They play Shawn and Nick, stars of their high school football team who decide to sign up for cheerleading camp and be surrounded by girls instead of spending their summer in football training. But when D'Agosto's Shawn falls for head cheerleader Carly (Sarah Roemer), the pair realise that they'll have to really, er, bring it on to save the team and win the girl.

The film also stars Christopher Guest regular John Michael Higgins and Philip Baker Hall, and is the feature directorial debut of Grosse Pointe writer Will Gluck. It's out here on May 22 next year.

Creepy
OK, the weird messages by publicists are starting to annoy me. First on some Twilight story and now here. Read the messages by sam14 and tennis_anyone and tell me that any regular user would say stuff like so and so's 'freaking hawt' The worst thing is, I'm imaging forty-something year olds posing as teenagers and that's just creepy on so many levels. "FU"
OMG I just love those two guys. This looks like a super fun, clever film to me, something a little different you know. I didn't even know guys could go to cheer camp, what a riot! My friends and I can't wait for Fired Up. "FU!" More

Eric Christian Olsen
There should be a rule that states once you've played someone of 20+ years, you can no longer play a teenager. Now, I've nothing against Olsen, but he's playing teenagers on and off his whole career. The guy is 31! More
