Race To Witch Mountain Trailer
The Rock tangles with aliens and Area 51

18 November 2008  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: Yahoo

His Rockness is back, and this time it’s alien. Yes, our favourite ex-wrestler, Dwayne Johnson, is starring in Disney’s kid-friendly sci-fi remake romp, and you can see the first trailer for Race To Witch Mountain here.

The story sees Johnson play a Las Vegas cab driver who gets more than he bargained for when he picks up kids Tia (AnnaSophia Robb) and Tony (Alexander Ludwig) – and learns that they’re aliens. Enlisting the help of a UFO expert (Carla Gugino) he tries to get the pair back to their ship in Witch Mountain, only to run into an obstacle in the shape of Ciaran Hinds’ sneering bad guy Burke.

To complicate matters further, an interplanetary invasion threatens if the kids can’t get back to their ship, and an alien bounty hunter is also after the young pair.

Thank goodness they’ve got El Rockerino on their side. Race to Witch Mountain is out here on April 10 next year, so you’ll have to wait until then to smell what Dwayne Johnson is cooking. We hear he does a mean choc-chip pancake.

Looks pretty good
I can just tell those kids are going to get on my nerves if I see this. It looks pretty good all the same, but I know I'll just end up seeing it when it's on Sky Premiere in about a year.. More

Hey
Maybe they'll bump into Pegg and Frost's 'Paul' and he can hitch a ride with them More

Harmless fun
It definately shows Dwayne's natural humour and it all seems to be a 3 starrer, good viewing (especiall if you have kids), but easially forgettable. Are they trying to reimagine the psycho robot Maxamillion from The Black Hole (one of my personal favourites of these type Disney movies) with The Bounty Hunter because looking at this trailer they have failed immeasurably. It sucks is what I'm saying. More

Don't Get Me Wrong...
I like Dwayne Johnson, I really do. I'm waiting patiently for the material to match his undoubted talent and natural charisma. But I just keep thinking of Suburban Commando whenever I hear about this. Not that I think Witch Mountain will be anything like it (especially having seen the trailer). Maybe it's just the wrestling connection. Ignore me. More
