I was glad to read your reply and can appreciate the explanation of your point of view. Point taken. I agree that the slant towards mindless entertainment is disturbing but films like 'The Dark Knight' makes me cling to hope that true success will come to those films that balance all facets of a good movie. I still have faith in ST though and will reserve judgment until I see the film.

Looks different which is what Trek needs but ... why are Spock and Kirk on the Enterprise at the same time when the ship is new, Spock served under Pike on the Enterprise for 11 years before Kirk arrived on the ship?

Sorry, it's just Superman Returns. It's a touchy subject. But it's ok now - I've had therapy and the doctor says as long as Brian Singer is never allowed near Superman again, I should be fine.
