They have failed in their 'ethical duty' because the review isn't honest - actually, I'll qualify that - if you read it, the first 3/4 of the review leaves you thinking he's going to give it one or two stars - it seems quite damning almost - then suddenly in the final paragraph, he totally turns around and says (I'm paraphrasing), "but in spite of all that, Indy was never meant to taken seriously so all these flaws can just be swept under the carpet- 4 stars"

To be honest, whether you think this movie was crap (and obviously plenty of people do) or not, I think it is unfair to attack Empire for giving it a positive review since they are not alone in finding stuff to like. Here's a DVD review in my newspaper today:
KOTCS (4 stars)
'Harrison Ford's long- awaited return to his signature role is a cracking, helter-skelter adventure yarn in the best tradition of the series. The search for a lost city and the threat from Cold War bad... Read More

Some people need to get over themselves, or at least accept that the Indiana Jones film they wanted made was never going to happen, because of George Lucas mostly I think. I have a lot of respect for the guy as a story teller, but his finger has long been off the pulse of what constitutes good, and what drives audiences nuts in modern cinema.
That said, the VAST number of criticisms of Indy 4 are defensible, and those that arent are mostly forgiveable. The latte... Read More

I adore the Indy films, he is and I believe always will be my favourite movie character (though Malcolm Reynolds is a damn close 2nd). I would have to say that as a child my favourite was always TOD, and currently it is Crusade, I'm sure it will change again as the years go by - but one thing is for certain KOTCS will never be my favourite. I don't think I have ever looked forward to a movie so much and been so crushed afterwards. Fridges, gophers and monkeys make me sad. ... Read More
