Gran Torino Trailer Online
Eastwood's latest gets a teaser

25 October 2008  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: Yahoo

Most of us would consider ourselves lucky if we reach 78 and are still fit to walk up the stairs - but Clint Eastwood has made two films this year, and the trailer for the second one, Gran Torino, in which he also stars, is up online here.

The story sees the former Dirty Harry also star as Walt Kowalski, a Korean veteran with racist tendencies and a prickly relationship with his family. He gets unwillingly drawn into the life of his neighbourhood after standing up to a local gang when a young boy tries to steal his prized car, a Gran Torino.

Judging by this trailer, Eastwood still looks very nearly as tough as he did in his gunslinging / maverick cop days, and this could be another hit for him in a year that will also see the release of his Changeling, starring Angelina Jolie and already an acknowleged Oscar contender.

Gran Torino is out in the UK on February 20, 2009.

Mean as Hell
Great to see Clint back in front of the camera. Looks like a great film. THe character somewhat reminds me of a older but meaner gunnary Sgt Thomas Highway. Greatest movie Icon ever. I think so. More

its not die hard with a vengence it's clint's back with a vengence and dont get in his way
WOW is one word for this film, I love clint's films he makes well thought out films that appeal to a mass audience and OSCAR which is very hard to do now im glad to see he's going back to his 70's routes and i have to confess i've not seen any of the dirty harry's although i hear they are really good i cant wait to see this one because i've not seen clint like this since the dollars trilogy. Good luck clint More

Step aside youngsters...
Loved the coffin nail comment Andy! It's true, there is no one else in movies like Clint. Never has there been someone so determined to go his own way. They said Dirty Harry was a fascist - didn't bother him. Now he's playing up to the borderline racist old gimmer next door (essentially retired Harry) and he's still the best there's ever been. And now we see what he was doing - BEING AN ORIGINAL. Whether directing or starring he is the one for all younger actors to beat - especially the o More

This film will be an inspiration to OAPs the world over to stand up to the ASBO generation. Actually, no, only Clint can do that! More

Hardest. Man. Ever.
Why would anyone be stupid enough to mess with Clint under any circumstances? The main reason for his longevity is the fact that coffin nails are petrified of him. As always his latest offering looks like a fantastic meeting of the toughness he's famed for, mixed with the emotion he delivers like no-one else. If it previews a week early then it's going to be the valentines date I take my girlfriend on! More

RE:
Clint really is the definition of utter badass.  Arm him with a gun and a snarl and all other tough guys lower their heads and quietly back away. I know Clint has the talent to take the simple plot of this film and create a really great movie.  I don't think it will be a contender for the title of "classic" but it already looks more than worth a look. RE: Gran pa!
My expectations were completely satisfied when I finished watching the trailer. This film looks like it going to be excellent and Clint is going to be great. I couldn't help thinking of Dirty Harry though when I was watching the trailer  More

Looks good, no one does mean old bastard better than Mr Eastwood. Also he's going through the best directing phase of his career, i'm getting quite excited about this already! More

RE: Clint's The Man
I am surprised, I think this looks great!  I love some of the more ridiculous aspects of the trailer like the 'angry zoom' into Clint's face as his family try to convince him of retirement homes, the 'I prayed for them to turn up' exchange and then the glorious face stomping.  This looks like angry fun. Clint's The Man
This looks pretty good, Clint looks great for a guy pushing 80 and it looks like a return to a "Dirty Harry" style character which is always welcome. More

Man Clint looks bad ass
seriously, i'm 27 and 6' 5'' and and i wouldnt fuck with him. i wasn't really expecting a new film with clint in front of the camera as he seems to love being a director but its always fantastic to see him again. this looks to be a cut above your regular revenge flick so heres hoping it is. More
