Mark Canton To Produce Ramayan 3392 AD Based on a Hindu comic book Source: Variety
It’s been about five minutes since we last wrote a story about a graphic novel being turned into a Hollywood movie. So you know what that means, don’t you, readers?
Yes, it means that Mandalay Pictures has snapped up the rights to Ramayan 3392 AD, a sci-fi superhero title from Liquid Comics.
Mark Canton will produce the movie, which is being adapted by John Collee (who was last seen working on the now-defunct Tarzan script for Guillermo del Toro) from the comic book, which is based on an epic Hindu poem. The comic book, first published in 2006, is about the blue-skinned Prince Rama, and his attempts to save his wife from a kidnappy demon.
Liquid Comics, by the by, has emerged, phoenix-like, from the ruins of Virgin Comics, which folded last month.
