Slimer should definately appear in Ghostbusters III at some point. Not as the freindly pet that he was in Ghostbusters II (which was another one of the reasons why Ghostbusters II wasn't very good) but as the ugly menacing spook he was in the original. He should remain the one ghost that the Ghostbusters are always close to catching but are never able to. More

| RE: if they are getting the original cast.... |
Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis should NOT be in Ghostbusters III. They shouldn't have even been on Ghostbusters II for pete's sake! The main reason why Ghostbusters II wasn't that good is because these characters were unecessarily braught back and the film suffered because of it. It made the movie far too similar to the original. The story should have moved away from Dana Barratt and onto something fresh. The reintroduction of Dana turned Ghostbus More

The first thing to say about this is that Ghostbusters III has not been confirmed. Columbia Pictures have simply hired two writers to write a script for it. Columbia are simply considering a sequel and looking into how it could work and what the possibilities are. If the writers that they have hired manage to come up with an exceptional script then Columbia will probably take the next step and try to sign Ramis, Aykroyd, Hudson, Potts and last but certainly not least, Mur More

At last. This film, as many have said is well overdue. Imagine if you will, your sitting in the cinema screen and you've watched all the adverts and trailers, and the BBFC logo comes up, then it goes all dark. The next thing you hear is an ever so slight rumbling noise, then BANG! the Ghostbusters theme starts up - AMAZING! I tells ya, amazing. | Hmmm? |
Let's hope it captures the magic of the originals, And no new Ghostbusters. Well. No replacements. Wouldn't it be cool if they'd set up a franchise (GBNY, GBLA, GBUK...) and the originals were like the grizzled oldies in charge and full of bullshit (Hello Venkman) stories?
I hope they play up to how the actors have matured and progressed. Can you imagine Venkman like a cross between Steve Zissou and (non whispering) Bob Harris? Just bored, sat in his office or doing publicity for the GB's and More

Die Hard, Rocky, Indy, Rambo, sequal, sequal..... comic book movie, comic book movie, more sequals....!
Getting very tired of hearing the same crap come out, regardless of how good SOME of them are! Cinema is dominated by PG-13 or 12A films. Cant we have some descent original flicks any more.... More

Hot off the press, Bill Murray has categorically refused to appear in any sequel... however Derek Acorah has been cast instead.
Ok I may have made that up, but wouldn't it be ace? It's obviously going to go down the pan anyway, so why not have an overacting Scouse sham involved? More

Don't tease me Empire, I've been hurt before. Infact when I was a wee child I bought my first Empire magazine because it had a quick blurb about Ghostbusters 3 in the greenlit section and that was back in 1997 (Summer preview issue, Clooney as Batman gracing the cover). I won't believe until I see a trailer. More

They'll never get Murrary back unfortunately. He's always been adamanet he won't return but this is fantastic news.
ny particular reason why he's so opposed to it?
I really don't think it can be done without Murray, the other three would be kinda boring without him

Can't see any reason why Bill Murray wouldn't star - he's already lent his voice and likeness to Ghostbusters: The Video Game due out in 2009, written by Aykroyd and Ramis and starring the original cast bar Moranis and Weaver.

Im quite against these remakes of the classics of our youth with aging stars just to cash in and make a quick buck. As most of these films are action films they just can't cut the mustard anymore. However as Ghostbusters is a comedy I think there is definately room to manouvere he to produce something awesome in the right hands. Didn't Bill Murray say he would come back but only as a ghost? Great idea Bill.
I agree with Chris, bringing in a new teen crowd of Ghostbuste More

This is great news but I get the horrid feeling it will be a passing over to the new team kind of thing. I can see the PR guys now "Just imagine , a new breed of Ghostbusters, we can get those 3 lads from Superbad to be in it, and Shia Labeouf as the leader" Actually that does sound like a good idea - i'm copyrighting that if Columbia is reading. I am now even more pleased that they plan a 3rd one because I think it has been needed for a long long time! I just wait for the day when they announce a Back To The Future 4.
